Consul General of Singapore Addresses Management Students at DES Mumbai Campus
Deccan Education Society (DES) Mumbai Campus had the distinct privilege of hosting H.E. Mr. Cheong Ming Foong, Hon. Consul General of Singapore, on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. H.E. Mr. Cheong Ming Foong addressed the management and computer applications students of DES JSKBS and DES NMITD. His address inspired students to be open minded, ready to retrain and embrace innovation.
During his interaction with the academic leadership and students, H.E. Mr Cheong Ming Foong shared valuable insights into Singapore’s remarkable journey from a developing nation to one of the world’s leading business and financial hubs. “People are our greatest asset”, he said. Mr. Cheong asserted that Singapore owes its success to policy stability and building institutions that people can trust.
The Consul General spoke about emerging areas of cooperation between India and Singapore, particularly in the fields of digital asset innovation, technology, sustainability, and research and development. He said that India’s UPI and Singapore’s Paynow are linked for digital payments.
The Hon. Consul General was welcomed by Dr. Giribala Dewasthale, In-Charge Director, JSKBS. Dr. Rasika Mallya, Incharge Director, NMITD delivered the vote of thanks.
